The June election for Solano County Supervisor is one of the most important elections we have had. Solano County is poised to be the "green" county of sustainable development or not. Sustainable development means maintaining our quality of life and economic development for a changing world. We need to be energy smart including how our transportation systems are developed. To be successful in economic growth and quality of life means land use decisions must be made that do not substantially increase auto dependence. Keeping development within existing cities and providing more ways to commute and less trips by car should be a primary goal.
And finally, my pet project is a first class regional park system that has been sought for decades in Solano. Past votes by the Board of Supervisors have failed to support a regional park. Now is the time. The next four years are crucial.
Therefore, check out the candidates for supervisor and vote your choice. I will send other announcements as I receive them.
