Agenda0401.08 Special Meeting.doc I attended a full week's conference in San Diego (work related) by the Association of Environmental Professional on global warming and climate greenhouse gases. There were two take home messages:- to be competitive in the economy, cities will need to adapt to and be adept about global warming and greenhouse gases; and
- the need to act is now.
Therefore, I have on the City Council Agenda for this Tuesday the U.S. Mayor's Climate Protection Agreement which I will sign. This agreement is consistent with Governor Schwartzennegger's Executive Order as well as AB 32, the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006. Below is the agreement and a website to read the pledge as well as a fact sheet about AB 32.
