Subject: Update on Solano County General Plan
Date: 2008-02-23
Here is the latest news on what is going on with the County of Solano's General Plan. It is critical that we make sure the County remains a "city-centered" county which means that development takes place in the city's jurisdiction. The draft general plan provides for development outside the city's jurisdictions. Although no development is indicated for Benicia's Sky Valley Area, there are major impacts to the quality of life of our county if the current general plan is approved in the future. The link - http://www.solanocountygeneralplan.net/ - is the place to review the map and other documents and contemplate more development of farmlands, floodplains and open space and more cars and traffic.

They are asking for authorization from the BOS to begin official circulation of the General Plan Update. Hope to begin the public review by end of March 2008.
