I recently completed my 6 months of walking and listening in Benicia. Each and every precinct has been visited by me (and usually one other supporter). It has been a wonderful odyssey: Most people expressed surprise that a candidate was on their door step. Many told me about their neighborhoods and all told me how much they love Benicia and wanted it to stay the same. Some common issues: speeding cars, loud music, street lights out, road repair needed and trash cans not put away. But the most common concern was growth, and the fear that the Seeno Business Park as proposed could ruin Benicia. We need to get it right and make it an A+ project to keep the small town quality of life here in Benicia.
Last weekend a bunch of you joined me for "Elizabeth's Special Delivery Day"! ...We met at Cafe Voltaire at 9AM for juice, coffee, bagels ... then off we went to our own or other neighborhoods to drop info on doorsteps... we pretty much covered the whole town.
